As a Strategic Risk Advisor for Financial Institutions, you will play a critical role in helping us navigate the complex world of risk management. We are seeking a highly experienced professional with a deep understanding of risk management principles and practices in the capital markets industry.

The estimated salary for this role is $220,000 - $270,000 per year, based on industry standards and the location of the company. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework for our capital markets business. This will include identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with market, credit, liquidity, and operational risks. You will also oversee the development and implementation of risk assessment and quantification models, as well as risk reporting processes to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of risk information.

Other key responsibilities of the Strategic Risk Advisor will include:

  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with senior business leaders and other key stakeholders to foster a deep understanding of the risk landscape;
  • Providing regular risk reviews and presenting findings to senior management and the Board of Directors;
  • Collaborating with the business and other key stakeholders to evaluate the risk associated with potential mergers and acquisitions, new product offerings, and other initiatives;
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices;
  • Reporting risk-related data to the Board of Directors, senior management, and various risk committees.

To be considered for this role, candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) with a minimum of 15 years of financial services experience, preferably in a capital markets or related business and/or an associated risk management position. Advanced knowledge of risks and regulations in all aspects of the capital markets, as well as risk assessment methodologies, risk governance structure and design, risk policy and procedures, and infrastructure design, risk controls and segregation of duties, is also required.
