About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Test Engineer to join our team at Enova International. As a key member of our cross-functional team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaboration and Expertise: Collaborate closely with the Product and Engineering teams to develop technical and domain expertise, and apply it to solve testing challenges across the teams.
  • Design and Code Reviews: Participate in design, code and test case reviews and provide feedback to improve testability of our systems, as well as quality of our code and tests.
  • Testing Tools and Processes: Research, implement and improve testing tools and processes for our products and teams.
  • Mentorship and Training: Mentor and train junior software engineers.
  • Defect Analysis and Process Improvement: Analyze defects and gaps in quality to determine how to improve our development process.
  • Test Strategies and Plans: Guide your team to define and refine test strategies and test plans for new and existing features.
  • Troubleshooting and Debugging: Troubleshoot and debug code.
Requirements
  • Technical Background: 4+ years of experience with Java or Python is preferred - we will consider all technical backgrounds.
  • API Testing Experience: Experience testing APIs, both manually and programmatically.
  • Version Control and CI/CD Tools: Experience with version control and CI/CD tools like Jenkins, CircleCI etc.
  • Automated Testing and Frameworks: Experience in developing and maintaining automated tests and frameworks using open source tools and technologies.
  • Test Infrastructure and Strategy: Experience managing test infrastructure and strategy.
  • Project Management Skills: Project management skills and the ability to estimate scope, break down problems into deliverable chunks, and pivot when requirements change.
  • Leadership and Communication: Comfort leading testing complex and high-risk projects. Ability to communicate with non-technical team members about progress, challenges, or new ideas.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Nice to Have
  • Developer-Centric Testing Tools: Experience working with developer-centric testing and monitoring tools such as Optimizely, DataDog, Splunk, Grafana, etc.
  • Integration and Contract Testing Tools: Experience working with integration and contract testing tools and frameworks such as PACT and/or Prism.
  • Scalability, Performance, or Security Testing: Testing experience in scalability, performance, or security.
  • Open-Source Contributions: Regular contributions to popular open-source projects (send us GitHub links).
