Position Overview

Title: Youth Outreach Coordinator, Central Oregon
Status: Full-Time/Non-Exempt
Reports To: Deputy Director, Central Oregon
Compensation: $21-24/hour with benefits including insurance, retirement plan, and professional development funds.

About Lines for Life: We are a dedicated non-profit organization focused on preventing substance abuse and suicide. Our mission is to provide support and promote mental health within communities, addressing various needs through intervention, prevention, and advocacy. We are committed to educating and training individuals to prevent crises related to mental health and substance use.

Role Responsibilities

The Youth Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Exemplifying the values of Lines for Life through supportive behavior.
  • Coordinating outreach logistics with schools to facilitate classroom education.
  • Building new partnerships with educational institutions in Central Oregon.
  • Delivering presentations on youth mental health topics in middle and high schools.
  • Organizing outreach activities to enhance YouthLine's visibility across the region.
  • Collaborating with the Deputy Director to create an annual outreach plan.
  • Assisting in the implementation of social media strategies for outreach.
  • Working with the outreach team to meet grant and contract requirements.
  • Mentoring interns and volunteers during outreach initiatives.
  • Co-facilitating training sessions for new volunteers and interns.
  • Identifying partnership opportunities to support outreach efforts.
  • Performing additional duties as required.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Work, Education).
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with youth.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel for outreach.
  • Strong communication and networking skills.
  • Experience in teaching or facilitating group presentations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and social media platforms.

Preferred:

  • Training in crisis intervention methods.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices.
Travel and Schedule

This role requires regular travel throughout Central Oregon for outreach events and community meetings. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary, including some evenings and weekends.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from $21 to $24 per hour, based on relevant experience and education. A comprehensive benefits package is offered, including health, dental, and retirement plans.
