Job Overview

Dewberry is seeking a skilled Construction Superintendent to oversee commercial and Federal construction projects in our Fairfax, VA office. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the field and possess strong communication skills to manage multi-trade projects in occupied building environments.



The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing renovations and retrofits to buildings, including project planning through implementation. They will supervise and coordinate onsite personnel and subcontractors to ensure schedule compliance, effectively manage projects to minimize changes, delays, and interference with end users, and maintain the standards and compliance with plans, specifications, and codes.



Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee renovations and retrofits to buildings on projects up to $15 million in construction, including project planning through implementation
  • Supervise and coordinate onsite personnel and subcontractors to ensure schedule compliance
  • Effectively manage projects to minimize changes, delays, and interference with end users
  • Interface with project inspectors, architects, engineers, clients, and local officials
  • Maintain the standards and compliance with plans, specifications, and codes
  • Update and maintain daily logs, project documents for revisions, change orders, ASIs, etc.
  • Develop Job Hazard Analysis forms, conduct weekly toolbox safety talks, and ensure compliance with OSHA guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and safe jobsite
  • Respectful and effective written and verbal communication

Requirements
  • Experience working in occupied facilities preferred
  • Top Secret/SCI clearance is preferred
  • Experience completing complex mechanical, electrical, and control projects preferred
  • Develop and update construction schedules (Microsoft Project or P6 experience preferred)
  • OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR Certificate preferred
  • Experience with Federal and USACE construction projects
  • Knowledge and use of Procore is preferred
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with Microsoft software, including Excel, Project, and Word, as well as P6 scheduling tool preferred

Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, ability to pass a driving record background check, and ability to receive a security clearance.
