Senior Estimator Role

Location: Walnut Creek, CA

Salary: $195K-$250K

We are in search of a Senior Estimator with a proven history of crafting accurate and competitive project bids, coupled with in-depth knowledge of heavy civil construction materials, methodologies, and costs. As an essential member of our organization, you will be instrumental in transforming our clients' aspirations into significant infrastructure developments. This role provides the chance to lead the estimation division, overseeing all aspects of its functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and uphold comprehensive estimation protocols.
  • Guide and mentor a skilled team, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Work with other departments to enhance efficiency and develop successful strategies.
  • Supervise critical decision-making and value engineering processes.
  • Manage and coordinate the company's bidding schedule.
  • Review and adjust cost elements of proposals to ensure competitiveness.
  • Recruit, train, and retain elite estimation professionals.
  • Encourage cross-functional training and career advancement within the team.
  • Analyze bidding risks and develop competitive tactics.
  • Assess significant risks and implement optimal solutions.
  • Create detailed bidding packages for intricate heavy civil projects.
  • Ensure accurate project cost estimates and superior bid submissions.
  • Guarantee timely submission and compliance with all bidding documentation.

Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of experience in construction estimation or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, business administration, architecture, or relevant experience.
  • Expertise in construction estimation software (HCSS Heavy Bid, Agtek, Blue Beam, P6, Office 365 suite).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Valid US driver's license and willingness to travel as necessary.
