Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to support our engineering team in the automotive infotainment sector. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with Python coding and familiarity with technologies such as CarPlay.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineers to validate CarPlay and next-generation CarPlay across over 100 automation setups for phones and iPads utilizing the CarPlay Simulator.
  • Oversee lab maintenance, including software and firmware updates, and assist in experimental procedures.
  • Ensure efficient lab throughput and conduct preliminary assessments of issues identified by automation, while monitoring, quantifying, and escalating these issues to QA leads.
  • Execute manual test suites to gain familiarity with the products under evaluation.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in Mac and iOS hardware with strong troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Comfortable using Terminal and bash, with a foundational knowledge of Python scripting.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time-management and communication skills.
  • Able to multitask and achieve results amidst competing priorities.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Exceptional debugging abilities.
  • Quick learner with a keen interest in hardware testing.
  • Adaptability to a dynamic work environment with shifting priorities.
  • Familiarity with Python is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced proficiency in Python.

Work Environment:

Position based in a collaborative office and lab setting, with a requirement to be present five days a week.

Equipment Provided:

Company will supply a MacBook for work purposes.

Success Metrics:

  • Maintain CEQA automated test output consistently above 90%.
  • Timely completion of all lab management tasks and requests.
  • Clear and effective communication within the team.
  • Defect reports must be comprehensive, including all necessary logs, timestamps, and screenshots.
  • Open to critical feedback and committed to making necessary improvements.
