Overview:

Gray is actively seeking a skilled Project Engineer to enhance our Commercial Construction team. This role is essential for ensuring project success through meticulous organization and a commitment to quality service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to review and prioritize action items.
  • Maintain an organized task list to ensure timely completion of project objectives.
  • Engage with the Superintendent to discuss daily action items.
  • Manage documentation including safety plans and meeting notes, ensuring both hard and electronic copies are maintained.
  • Facilitate communication between the Project Manager and Superintendent on a daily basis.
  • Review and confirm the acceptability of RFIs and submittals from subcontractors before forwarding to consultants.
  • Utilize Timberline for managing RFIs and submittals, ensuring all project documentation is up to date.
  • Distribute relevant project communications to subcontractors to keep them informed.
  • Track and update material procurement logs in alignment with the project schedule.
  • Organize and maintain all project documentation and filing systems.
  • Prepare and manage punch lists and ensure all closeout documents are collected and submitted to the owner upon project completion.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in construction management, engineering, or architecture.
  • Proficiency in Timberline or similar project management software.
  • Experience in commercial, retail, and restaurant construction projects.

Skills:

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Detail-oriented approach to tasks.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic mathematical skills for project management.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily office-based with a moderate noise level and controlled temperature. Occasional overtime may be required.
