About the Job
This role as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Penn Medicine's Scheie 4 unit is a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our patients. As an integral member of the healthcare team, you will interact with patients at the most intimate level and highest frequency. You will be responsible for supporting and assisting in the delivery of quality care to patients and families.
Key Responsibilities
* Participate in daily RN/CNA handoffs and unit huddles
* Communicate with patients to ascertain feelings or need for assistance or social and emotional support
* Answer patient call signals, signal lights, bells, or intercom systems to determine patients' needs
* Provide physical support to assist patients to perform daily living activities, such as getting out of bed, bathing, dressing, using the toilet, standing, walking, or exercising
* Gather information from caregivers, nurses, or physicians about patient condition, treatment plans, or appropriate activities
* Collecting and recording vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, or respiration rate, as directed by medical or nursing staff
* Document or otherwise report observations of patient behavior, complaints, or physical symptoms to nurses
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification required
* CNA or NAREG certification required
* High School Diploma or equivalent required
* Matriculated in an accredited BSN Nursing Program preferred; minimally completed the nursing foundations/fundamentals clinical course with a 3.0 GPA overall and in the nursing major

Salary Range
The estimated salary for this position is $42,000-$52,000 per year, depending on experience.
