Job Description

• Responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting a series of registration procedures to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process.
• Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process, including assessing health history and conducting health screening procedures.
• Educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma, including explaining the screening process and health screening tests performed.
• Register applicants and transfer donors based on operational needs of the center.
• Answer telephone calls and respond to donor inquiries or transfer calls to appropriate staff members.
• Maintain alertness and awareness to any reaction by a donor during or after the pheresis process and notify appropriate staff.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
• Understand policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs at the center.
• Maintain clean and efficient work environment and ensure sufficient operating supplies and forms are available as needed.
• Promote safety in all actions and maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in medical or health provider environment.
• Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions.
• Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines.
• Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation.

Working Conditions

• Frequent exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood borne pathogens.
• Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment while performing specific tasks or in certain areas.
• Required to work overtime and extended hours to support center operational needs.
