Classification: Regular, Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Position Summary
The Entrance Attendant plays a vital role in delivering exceptional service to visitors, agencies, and personnel at designated entry points or kiosks. This position entails the precise and prompt management of cash and credit transactions at the entrance locations. The Entrance Attendant will check in all visitor reservations and day-use entries, warmly welcoming all guests in a professional manner while effectively conveying knowledge of Park Regulations, services, and amenities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides assistance to customers in a friendly and courteous manner, setting a positive example for both visitors and colleagues.
- Handles cash register operations and processes credit and debit card transactions efficiently.
- Manages the check-in process for all visitor reservations and day-use entries.
- Responds to phone inquiries and assists guests with reservation requests.
- Effectively communicates knowledge of Park Regulations, services, and amenities to all visitors.
- Maintains a clean and organized entrance area/kiosk.
- Assists with additional related tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age (21 to drive) and possess reliable transportation.
- Minimum of one year experience in a customer service or hospitality environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
- Availability for shifts during weekends, holidays, and peak visitation times, with schedules coordinated with local management.
- Strong interpersonal skills; enjoys engaging with the public in a high-contact environment.
- Demonstrates a genuine concern for the visitor experience and values frequent public interaction.
- Able to work in varying weather conditions.
