Job Summary

Lorven Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Technician 3 to join our team. As a key member of our transportation operations team, you will be responsible for managing traffic and incidents on roadways, improving traffic conditions, and ensuring the safety of motorists and toll customers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Operate computer-based traffic management systems to manage traffic and incidents on roadways.
  2. Monitor roadways via CCTV surveillance cameras and detection systems.
  3. Monitor all traffic devices and computer equipment associated with the system.
  4. Maintain knowledge on the operation of all traffic equipment, computers, and software associated with the traffic systems.
  5. Utilize traffic equipment for incident management and the improvement of travel time, safety, and quality of life of the traveling motorists and toll customers.
  6. Continually check the accuracy and validity of the messages displayed on all DMS and 511.
  7. Be aware of all 511 messages broadcasted on a particular system.
  8. Enter incident information into computer systems using traffic software.
  9. Become familiar with the roadways and understand the purpose and location of each traffic device.
  10. Alert operator staff to new and existing memos.
  11. Use SOG to detect, dispatch, monitor, and document roadway incidents.
  12. Confer with partners (highway patrol, Service Patrols, Local Law Enforcement, Fire Rescue, as well as adjacent Traffic Management Centers or other DOT Regions to coordinate resources for incidents that may affect regional travel.
  13. Dispatch Service Patrols and assist Service Patrols with other tasks, such as phone calls, etc.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
