We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team at PAM Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities- Perform routine therapy, diagnostic, and emergency cardiopulmonary procedures for patients in our hospitals.
- Maintain all equipment in working order and ensure proper use of the medication dispensing system.
- Assist with inventory control and participate in the maintenance and quality control program in the blood gas lab.
- Monitor pressure volume relationships, ventilation, and blood gas relationships, and obtain blood gas samples by proper technique.
- Accurately perform reliable basic spirometry, measure vital capacity, negative inspiratory force, and oxygen saturation, and review patient history to make appropriate recommendations for therapy.
- Communicate with family or caregivers to involve them in the decision-making related to the patient's plan of care.
- Assist with the orientation of new employees in proper departmental policies and procedures and validate competency.
- Ensure that all equipment is in proper operating condition and assist in resolving end-user problems related to equipment.
- Certified or licensed in the state where the hospital resides to practice respiratory care.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification.
- Minimum of one year clinical respiratory experience preferred.
