Position Overview:

The Physical Therapist Assistant plays a crucial role in enhancing patient mobility and overall well-being within the home health sector. This role is essential in implementing the treatment plans established by licensed physical therapists, utilizing evidence-based practices to aid in pain reduction, functional restoration, and disability prevention.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute patient treatment plans as outlined by the supervising physical therapist.
  • Ensure accurate billing for services rendered and maintain thorough documentation to support all charges.
  • Communicate regularly with the supervising physical therapist regarding patient care, departmental issues, and treatment plan adjustments.
  • Effectively manage each patient's care plan through timely collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and physician involvement as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited physical therapist assistant program is mandatory.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a PTA role within long-term care, post-acute settings, hospitals, home care, or similar environments is preferred.
  • Licensure as a PTA in Nebraska or a compact state is required.
  • BLS certification is necessary or must be obtained within 45 days of employment.
