Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agent

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agent to join our team in Ware County. As a key member of our extension team, you will be responsible for providing educational programming and outreach services to the community, focusing on production agriculture, horticulture, and natural resources.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement educational programs for diverse audiences, including farmers, landowners, and community members.
- Collaborate with advisory groups, community leaders, and public officials to identify needs and develop programs that meet those needs.
- Conduct needs assessments and program evaluations to ensure the effectiveness of extension services.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to farmers and landowners on best management practices, crop management, and soil conservation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, including farmers, agricultural organizations, and community groups.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and technologies in agriculture and natural resources, and apply that knowledge to extension programming.
- Masters degree in Agriculture or a related field.
- Experience in extension education, agricultural research, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse audiences.
- Ability to travel frequently, with a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Knowledge of agricultural production systems, including crop management, soil conservation, and water quality.
- Experience working with diverse audiences, including farmers, landowners, and community members.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
