Quality Assurance Technician

Shift: Monday-Friday (6a-2p)

Conduct thorough evaluations of products to identify any defects or inconsistencies with established specifications. Team members will analyze, assess, and continually review company-wide processes that impact individual label quality to ensure we consistently surpass customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections of products before secondary finishing or shipment.
  • Utilize measuring tools such as rulers, micrometers, spectrophotometers, and loupes to verify compliance with order specifications.
  • Review required documentation and report any discrepancies to the Quality Supervisor.
  • Make decisions to accept or reject finished products.
  • Isolate any rejected items to remove them from the workflow and prevent shipment.
  • Provide comprehensive feedback on all findings to the Quality Supervisor.
  • Complete necessary reports for customers, including Certificates of Analysis and Certificates of Compliance.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent; specialized training beyond high school is a plus.
  • At least 2 years of experience in printing or a related field.
  • Strong color perception with the ability to distinguish subtle color differences.
  • Exceptional attention to detail is crucial.
  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions, as well as create basic correspondence and memos.
  • Moderate experience with computers, including data entry and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively use measuring instruments.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Regular exposure to a manufacturing environment with potential unpleasant or hazardous conditions, including dust, noise, and chemicals, for 51% to 80% of work time.
  • Constant need to hear, speak, articulate, and use manual dexterity.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, utilize color vision, grasp, reach, and sit for extended periods.
  • Occasionally required to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
