About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Operations Engineer to join our team at Verizon. As a key member of our National Network Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and quality of our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance and break-fix instances for mission-critical infrastructure
  • Provide hardware support and coordinate installation, testing, and troubleshooting of transmission facilities
  • Oversee preventative maintenance on major data center physical infrastructure assets
  • Design, develop, and maintain the physical infrastructure, network, and layout of a data center
  • Monitor mechanical and electrical equipment, identifying potential failures and troubleshooting issues
  • Ensure data centers meet compliance standards and guidelines
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Ability to work various shifts and on-call rotating schedules
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with IFP, CND, Remedy
  • Knowledge of Data Center Power Systems AC and DC, Fiber Distribution Systems
  • Change Process Management experience
  • Power experience, including DC power systems, AC power systems, UPS systems
  • Knowledge of HVAC equipment, including chillers, cooling towers, and CRAC units
  • Low voltage controls experience with Building Automation and Fire Systems
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, construction documents, and drawings
  • Familiarity with financial tools, including 1ERP and FUZE
  • Data Center Airflow Optimization experience
  • Effective Project Management and Vendor Management experience
  • Knowledge in PeopleSoft Account software and MS Office computer applications
