About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Design Engineer to join our Accessories team at Apple. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating innovative and high-quality accessories for our devices.

Responsibilities
  • Concept generation and architecture development for accessories
  • Module integration and knowledge transfer to development partners
  • Partner with internal resources for testing and analysis to ensure high-quality product development and manufacturing
  • Guide development partners through custom component integration and test procedures
  • Oversee detailed engineering development and manufacturing ramp process
Requirements
  • 4-7 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in consumer electronics
  • Product design leadership with oversight over multiple contributors/partners
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with general mechanical engineering analysis
  • Fundamentals of engineering, including strength of materials, material science, statics, and heat transfer
  • Good understanding of different materials and grades
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing parts for various manufacturing processes
  • Multi-functional design skills, including mechanism design, electro-mechanical integration, and PCB mechanical design
  • Design validation skills, including tolerance analysis, numerical analysis, and mechanical prototyping
  • Flexibility and comfort working in a quickly changing environment
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3D and 2D CAD skills, including GD&T
  • BSME required
