Spiritual Guidance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Spiritual Guidance Specialist to join our team at the Texas Department of Public Safety. As a key member of our Victim and Employee Support Services (VESS) office, you will provide critical support to our employees, their families, and the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to critical incidents and disaster scenes, providing emotional support and spiritual care to those in need.
- Visit sick or injured officers and departmental personnel, offering comfort and support during difficult times.
- Assist in making death notifications, providing sensitive and compassionate support to those affected.
- Provide assistance to crime victims, offering guidance and support throughout the recovery process.
- Serve as a liaison with clergy and other community resources, fostering partnerships and support networks.
- Offer invocations at special Department of Public Safety events, promoting a sense of community and respect.
- Perform other duties as assigned, utilizing your skills and expertise to support the needs of our team.
- Education: As required by faith tradition.
- Experience: Three (3) or more years in pastoral or parish/congregational ministry, with congregational endorsement or recommendation within the individual's respective faith tradition.
- Licensure and/or Certification: Valid driver license from state of residence.
- Organizational and Prioritization Skills: Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
- Presentation/Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to diverse individuals.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to establish and maintain positive, working/professional relationships with internal/external customers.
- Research and Comprehension: Ability to quickly and efficiently access relevant information, and present research and conclusions in a clear and concise manner.
- Confidentiality and Protected Information: Ability to responsibly handle sensitive and confidential information and situations.
- Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Safety: Ability to work and promote working in a safe manner at all times.
- Travel and/or Schedule: Availability to travel locally and/or statewide, and work non-normal business hours as needed.

- Driving requirements: Moderate to Extensive frequency.
