Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Plumbing Design Engineer to join our team at ACCO Engineered Systems. This is a full-time position responsible for delivering engineering services from conceptual design through construction completion.

About the Role
  • This position requires strong technical knowledge of plumbing systems, including gas piping, waste and vent, domestic water distribution, and kitchen plumbing design.
  • You will be working on multiple small and medium-sized projects simultaneously, creating conceptual designs certified to Building Codes, Energy Codes, and LEED standards.
  • Your responsibilities will include conducting economic and energy analyses, as well as field engineering tasks such as trade coordination, scheduling, document management, and problem-solving/troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and develop plumbing systems, including layout and calculations, in accordance with industry standards and company specifications.
  2. Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  3. Communicate effectively with colleagues and project team members to achieve common goals.
  4. Conduct site visits to inspect and troubleshoot plumbing systems, providing recommendations for improvement.
  5. Maintain accurate records and documentation of project progress, including design changes, issues, and resolutions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Professional Engineer license preferred but not required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role within a Design/Build Mechanical Contractor or consultant.
  • Strong understanding of engineering and design fundamentals, including building codes and industry standards.
  • Excellent proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
