Job Title: Transportation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer to join our team at The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for providing professional roadway engineering assistance in Ohio and Michigan.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will assist senior engineers and project managers in the preparation of transportation design plans for state, commercial, industrial, residential, and municipal projects in a 3D digital environment. You will perform and check various design calculations, prepare front-end feasibility, permitting, and zoning studies, project development, storm water design, cost estimates, and detailed design plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist senior engineers and project managers in the preparation of transportation design plans

Requirements
  • General experience related to roadway design
  • Experience with MicroStation (OpenRoads, GEOPAK SS4 is not required, but a plus)
  • Making charts, graphs, or forms to go along with documentation
  • Prepare and organize documentation for each report
  • Experience with technical writing
  • Knowledge of ODOT and MDOT Design Standards
  • Preparing plans and specifications
