Environmental Remediation Specialist

ERM is seeking a skilled Environmental Remediation Specialist to join our team in the United States. The successful candidate will work on a variety of site investigation and remediation projects at industrial sites. This is a great opportunity to work with ERM's technical experts to implement the latest investigation and remediation technologies, while building the required experience to obtain professional registration.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field work, including soil, sediment, groundwater, and surface water sampling, aquifer testing, drilling oversight, and soil logging.
  • Coordinate and direct drilling, surveying, and laboratory services.
  • Provide construction oversight on environmental remediation projects and operations and maintenance of environmental remediation systems.
  • Assist in data interpretation and preparation of site workplans, spreadsheets, figures, and technical reports.
  • Focus on team project delivery, taking direction primarily from Project Managers.
  • Work within quality, budget, and schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Communicate with subcontractors, regulatory agents, tenants, and clients during field activities.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's in civil, environmental, or geological engineering, hydrogeology, or a related environmental science discipline.
  • Recent graduate to 3 years of experience, including commitment to complete multi-week, out-of-town field assignments.
  • Ability to work and problem-solve independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and organization and analytical skills; experience recording and writing detailed technical data and reports a plus.
  • Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, and maintaining flexibility, while meeting strict deadlines.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training a plus; but can be provided by ERM if a prospective candidate does not have the initial or refresher training.
  • Local candidates preferred.
