Job Summary

The French International School of Oregon is seeking a skilled School Counselor to join our team. As a School Counselor, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of our students. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses the diverse needs of our students.
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students, addressing issues such as academic struggles, social relationships, and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement strategies to support student learning and behavior.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress and to involve them in the counseling process.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in school counseling.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in school counseling or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and to adapt to changing circumstances.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with students with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Knowledge of counseling theories and techniques.
  • Ability to speak French (not required but a plus).
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is $65,000 per year, paid over a 10-month school year. The school also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and dental insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
