As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide high-quality patient care in a hospital setting. Your primary responsibility will be to administer respiratory therapy treatments and assessments to patients with acute and chronic respiratory illnesses. You will work closely with medical staff and allied health professionals to ensure the delivery of clinically appropriate respiratory care procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform respiratory therapy assessments and administer treatments as prescribed by medical staff
Ensure the delivery of clinically appropriate respiratory care procedures
Instruct and orient medical staff and allied health professionals on respiratory care and procedures
Maintain patient charts, enter diagnostic information, and log data into patient information systems
Provide patient education and instruction on respiratory care and procedures
Maintain competency and certification on current and new procedures and equipment related to respiratory care
Clean and sterilize equipment and workspace
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Registered or registry eligible by the National Board of Respiratory Care
BLS certification required at hire date and must be maintained continuously throughout employment
ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications preferred at hire date, but must be achieved within six months of hire and maintained continuously throughout employment
Experience in the Alaska Tribal Health System preferred
Training or experience specific to worksite wellness programs highly preferred
