Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic to join our team at VSS International, Inc. This is a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic company that values its employees and offers a competitive compensation package.

Job Summary

The Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic will be responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on our heavy and diesel equipment at various job sites throughout the western US. This is a mobile position that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to various job sites in a commercial maintenance truck to perform repairs and maintenance on heavy and diesel equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on specialized equipment such as oil distributor trucks, loaders/rollers, macropavers, and pick-up trucks.
  • Work on hydraulic and electrical systems, and perform visual inspections to identify potential issues.
  • Work in the shop when needed to perform repairs and maintenance.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in diesel truck and heavy construction equipment repair.
  • Basic welding and metal fabrication skills.
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
