Automation Systems Specialist

The Automation Engineer will provide engineering support for Surface Quality Monitoring (SQM) Systems, Marker systems, and other critical automated inspection devices within Davenport and Satellites. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 3 years' experience designing, installing, maintaining electromechanical systems or inspection systems. Experience with optical scanning or vision systems, Artificial Intelligence, and Smart Manufacturing is also required. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, purchasing, installing, and supporting maintenance of SQM systems, Marker systems, and other critical customer/process measuring devices for Davenport and Satellites. Additionally, they will identify new opportunities for automated inspection systems to add business value and ensure installed automation inspection systems are functioning optimally to deliver intended business results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering support for SQM Systems, Marker systems, and other critical automated inspection devices
- Design, purchase, install, and support maintenance of SQM systems, Marker systems, and other critical customer/process measuring devices
- Identify new opportunities for automated inspection systems to add business value
- Ensure installed automation inspection systems are functioning optimally to deliver intended business results
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 3 years' experience designing, installing, maintaining electromechanical systems or inspection systems
- Experience with optical scanning or vision systems
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence and Smart Manufacturing
- Demonstrated success as a project implementation manager, including budget and schedule development
- Good oral and written communication skills in a variety of settings (shop floor, peers, plant leadership, etc)
