Job Summary and Qualifications


As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will undertake various responsibilities in preparing patients for scans of specific organs to provide diagnostic information and assess the concentration of radioactive isotopes in designated body areas.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review patient charts for necessary exams and tests.
- Prepare patients for examinations by administering pre-medication, radioactive isotopes, and transferring them to the examination table.
- Conduct scans on patients, adjusting settings on the gamma camera as needed.
- Measure or survey the radiation emitted by specific radioactive materials received in the department.
- Document every radioactive isotope for inspection by the Bureau of Radiation Control.
- Maintain records of patient history and examination results.
- Assist in administering I-131 therapy and manage the I-131 therapy schedule, documenting scan and test outcomes.
- Order radioactive isotopes promptly.
- Organize patient records and ensure accurate charge codes and examinations.

Qualifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
- State Registered Radiologic Technician.
- Graduate from an accredited School of Radiology.
- Registered Radiographer (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB).
- One year of experience preferred.
