Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at JPS Health Network. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of specialized technical nuclear medicine procedures to support patient diagnosis and care.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform nuclear medicine procedures as ordered, ensuring accurate patient information and supply charges.
  2. Assist patients with mobility needs, obtain and record accurate patient history, and maintain a safe and clean environment.
  3. Clean and monitor equipment, report any issues to Bio-Med or Manager, and perform quality control on equipment according to manufacturer guidelines or department protocols.
  4. Maintain yearly competency, mandatory district education, professional certification, state licensure, and education requirements.
  5. Ensure a safe and clean environment with all necessary supplies needed to perform studies and procedures in exam rooms.
  6. Receive, handle, store, prepare, and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients according to prescribed doses or protocols and in compliance with QMP.
  7. Provide on-call emergency coverage on a rotational basis, responding to hospital within 30 minutes or prior to isotope delivery if dose not on site.
  8. Apply knowledge of department QMP, NRC, and State rules, and radiation safety principles to ensure patient and staff safety for radiation protection to achieve radiation exposure ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) for patients, self, and others.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an AMA-approved school preferred. Must be American Registry Radiology Technology (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) registered or eligible to take the boards (certified in 12 months upon hire).
  • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine and 1+ year of related work experience.
  • Required licensure/certification/specialized training: Completion of ARRT/CNMT certified/eligible training in an AMA-approved school, certified by the registered upon hire or within 3 months of the hire date, Texas license required, and JPS recognized BLS certification.
