We are seeking a highly skilled Physician III to join our team at the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). As a Physician III, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients with psychiatric disorders, as well as supervising physicians and nurse practitioners in the medical clinic.
Key Responsibilities- Direct medical and infection control activities, monitoring trends and making recommendations for improvement.
- Provide initial clinical assessment and basic non-invasive care and stabilization for emergency and non-emergency occupational injuries within the scope of discipline licensure.
- Establish and maintain professional competencies through participation in Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs or activities.
- Provide treatment to state hospital employees injured in the course and scope of employment.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation.
- Must be licensed as a medical doctor by the State of Texas.
- Successful completion of a residency approved by the accreditation council of graduate medical education or equivalent body.
- Three years post-residency clinical experience in their respective specialty.
- Board eligible in their specialty.
This position may be eligible to earn additional pay for work performed on evenings, nights, and/or weekends. The duties, location of work, and shift pattern are subject to change as determined by the administration to meet the needs of the hospital.
