Job Summary:

As a Direct Support Assistant with the NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities, you will play a vital role in helping individuals with developmental disabilities to learn and develop daily living skills and habits. Your responsibilities will include assisting with personal care, advocating for the individual's needs, and providing support to ensure their health, safety, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist individuals with daily living skills and habits
  • Provide personal care and support
  • Advocate for the individual's needs
  • Ensure health, safety, and well-being

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license in New York State
  • Meet physical and agility standards
  • Pass a medical examination and background check

Please note:

The medical examination includes psychological and drug screening. You must be cleared through the New York State Child Abuse Registry, the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs, and the Medicaid Fraud Prevention and Detection database. A criminal background check and fingerprinting will be conducted.
