COPSD Specialist Job Description

Gulf Coast Center is seeking a highly skilled COPSD Specialist to join our team. As a COPSD Specialist, you will provide critical services to individuals with substance use disorders, working closely with our Recovery and Mental Health programs to ensure seamless integration of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial substance use screenings to determine priority populations
  • Provide weekly individual counseling to clients enrolled in the COPSD program
  • Facilitate individual counseling services for clients on caseloads
  • Conduct random drug screenings to assess progress or regression
  • Work collaboratively with the COPSD, Substance Use, and Mental Health staff to identify community needs
  • Connect clients to resources essential for stability and recovery
Requirements:
  • LCDC License required or LCDC-I CI with 2,000 hours of experience
  • Experience in substance use settings
  • Direct care experience preferred
Working Conditions:
  • Work will be performed in office and field settings
  • May require varied work hours and out-of-region travel
