Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team at Good Samaritan Hospital. As an Infusion Certified Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of life-saving infusion therapies to patients who rely on these treatments for conditions such as cancer, infections, or chronic diseases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of compounded sterile products, including chemotherapy and hazardous medications.
  • Compound sterile products, including chemotherapy and hazardous medications, while following current guidelines and policy (USP 797, USP 800, ASHP, NIOSH and Board of Pharmacy laws and regulations).
  • Perform hand hygiene and garbing and cleaning and disinfecting of the hoods and room according to policy and keep accurate cleaning logs.
  • Assist in non-sterile medication preparation by selecting, counting, compounding, packaging, scanning, labeling, filling, and delivering medications per department guidelines.
  • Maintain an accurate controlled substances (CII-CV) inventory and review and maintain controlled substance records.
Requirements
  • High School Degree or GED
  • Active National Pharm Tech Cert (CPhT)
  • Approved cert is through Pharm Tech Cert Board (PCTB) and ExCPT Cert by the National Healthcareer Association
  • Active registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician
  • Must be able to compound sterile products and maintain a sterile environment
