Job Overview

FirstFour Staffing is partnering with a leading manufacturing organization to fill a Buyer position in Mobile for a six-week contract. This onsite role requires a strong procurement professional to manage purchasing activities for raw materials, parts, and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Issue purchase orders up to $15M in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with CPSR requirements.
  • Follow up with requestors and end users regarding purchase order due dates and status.
  • Minimize the use of expedited shipping services and follow traffic and logistics guidelines.
  • Assist in running and maintaining MRP open order, expedite, de-expedite, and past due reports.
  • Work with material planning, production planning, and logistics to reduce part inventory and obsolete materials.
  • Resolve supplier invoice discrepancies and non-conforming material issues.
  • Maintain close communication with supplier account and customer service personnel.
  • Provide input on commodity strategies and related projects.
  • Assist with reviewing statements of work and maintaining the Buyer scorecard for cost savings/cost avoidance reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Material Management, or related field.
  • Minimum two years' experience in industrial material buying/procurement, ERP/MRP systems, and material and service sourcing activities.
