We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Sports Program Coordinator to join our team at the City of Decatur. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating sports leagues and tournaments for youth and adults, preparing and maintaining team rosters, setting up and breaking down of athletic areas, and actively supervising of activity areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Coordination
    • Coordinate sports leagues and tournaments for youth and adults
    • Prepare and maintain team rosters
    • Set up and break down of athletic areas
    • Actively supervise activity areas
  • Communication and Customer Service
    • Provide excellent customer service to participants, coaches, and parents
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including Recreation Supervisor, coaches, and parents
  • Program Development and Implementation
    • Develop and implement sports programs that meet the needs of the community
    • Assess program quality and make recommendations for improvement
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Manage program equipment and supplies
    • Inventory and order program equipment and supplies
    • Submit work orders for repairs or damaged equipment
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Recreation Administration, Sports Management, or related field
    • Two years of related experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • Certified Youth Sports Administrator certification is preferred
    • Possess a valid Georgia Driver's license (class C) and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
  • Physical Requirements
    • Ability to sit, walk, and stand for long periods
    • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
    • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
