Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mold Maker 3rd Shift to join our team. As a key member of our Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on injection molds using prints and sketches as required. You will also perform machining and assembly of prototypes, tools, fixtures, and gauges, and generate and prepare design ideas for engineering and sales.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform intricate and detailed welding repairs, color matching, re-spotting, engineering changes, insert work, hand benching, peening, texturing, polishing, and glass spotting with high precision.
  2. Perform preventative maintenance on injection molds, including disassembly, inspection, repair, and replacement of springs, ejector pins, hydraulic cylinders, limit switches, and other components.
  3. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and machine manuals to build and repair molds and tools, requiring a strong understanding of sections, views, and projections.
  4. Fabricate parts with or without sketches and prints using lathe, mill, drill press, and welder, and operate testing equipment, power tools, hand tools, torches, welders, and precision measuring instruments.
  5. Perform heat treating of steels, such as hardening, annealing, and drawing.
  6. Operate drill press, radial drill, milling machines, lathe, grinder, welder, torch, bench tools, spotting press, boring mill, and CNC mill.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4-year of related experience in CNC programming and operating knowledge or completion of a 4-year apprenticeship program certified by the U.S. Department of Labor.
  • Experience in the automotive industry is strongly preferred.
  • Journeyman Card is preferred.
  • Requires bending, heavy lifting, reaching, working in cramped and confined spaces.
