Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supply Corps Officer to join our team at the US Navy. As a Supply Corps Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success and safety of every mission by managing the supply chain, inventory, and logistics of the Navy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze demand for supplies and forecast future needs to ensure timely delivery of critical materials and equipment.
  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of supplies and equipment to support ship maintenance and repairs.
  • Manage the inspection, shipping, handling, and packaging of supplies and equipment to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Direct personnel who receive inventory and issue supplies and equipment to support operational requirements.
  • Evaluate bids and proposals submitted by potential suppliers to ensure best value for the Navy.
  • Maintain budgets and track expenses to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize space and distribution of supplies and equipment.
  • Transport cargo or personnel in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.
  • Oversee the handling of special items such as medicine and explosives to ensure safe and secure transportation.
Work Environment

As a Supply Corps Officer, you will work in a variety of environments, including offices, shore-based warehouses, air cargo terminals, and aboard ships and submarines. You will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills in inventory management, financial management, procurement, and warehouse management.

Training and Advancement

As a Supply Corps Officer, you will receive comprehensive training at Officer Candidate School (OCS) in Newport, RI, and Navy Supply School (27 weeks) in Newport, RI. You will also have opportunities for advanced training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must be a U.S. citizen, be qualified for sea duty, and be willing to serve worldwide. A degree from a four-year college or university is a minimum educational requirement, and a graduate degree is preferred. You must also be able to pass a background check and meet the physical and mental demands of the job.

Part-Time Opportunities

If you are interested in serving part-time in the Navy Reserve, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of roles, including Supply Corps Officer. You will be required to attend monthly drilling and annual training, and you will have the flexibility to balance your military service with your civilian career.
