About the Role


The Shift Manager in Training role at True North is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and contributing to a dynamic retail environment.



Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of store appearance and operations. Key responsibilities include:



  • Providing outstanding customer service by greeting and thanking every guest, ensuring they receive a welcoming and friendly experience.
  • Maintaining awareness of monthly promotions, sale merchandise, and advertisements, and assisting with the completion of the monthly blitz execution as needed.
  • Following all True North procedures for coffee, fountain, and food service programs.
  • Receiving deliveries from vendors and verifying accuracy of inventory along with authorization in price book.
  • Leading by example, adhering to company policies and procedures, addressing staff compliance issues as needed, either directly or by bringing issues to the manager.
  • Assisting in training and development of both new and existing staff members.
  • Properly addressing any guest issues or complaints and escalating to the Store Manager when appropriate.
  • Running daily reports, reconciling shift sheets, completing e-store reporting, and preparing and transporting bank deposit, as directed by the Store Manager.


Requirements:

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:



  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with colleagues and guests.
  • Able to process information and merchandise through EPOS, including retrieving reports, processing credit card transactions, and operating lottery machines.
  • Calm and composed in emergency situations, prioritizing the safety and well-being of customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to read, count, and write accurately to complete shift reports.
  • Responsibility for transporting bank deposits, requiring attention to detail and reliability.
  • Able to stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours, and work in cold conditions while stocking and cleaning the cooler.
  • Willingness to move or handle merchandise throughout the store, weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including first, second, and occasionally third shift.


Minimum Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:



  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
  • Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Have access to a reliable vehicle for banking purposes.
