Position Overview

This role is a part-time, non-benefited opportunity exclusively for students enrolled at the University.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and ensure the service, safety, and security of the facility by conducting regular inspections, addressing concerns, and completing necessary documentation.
  • Support the co-curricular and administrative initiatives of the facility and assist external organizations utilizing the space.
  • Monitor and assist with events, including setup and logistics.
  • Collaborate with event scheduling personnel during evenings and weekends to troubleshoot event planning issues or urgent equipment requests.
  • Identify and address immediate operational challenges within the facility.
    • May involve covering other service areas within the facility.
    • May include assisting with training and development of student staff.
    • May involve managing deposits and general cash handling.
  • Implement emergency protocols (e.g., evacuations or medical emergencies).
  • Open and close the facility as required.
  • Exemplify appropriate conduct and provide guidance to fellow student staff, fostering effective communication among team members.
  • Promote a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors by cultivating positive relationships with campus security, facilities management, and other university departments.
  • Work collaboratively with student staff to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and effectively manage various situations with confidence and leadership.

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and rotating weekends.
  • Attendance at all mandatory training sessions and staff meetings is required.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment and furniture as necessary.
  • Successful completion of a background check is mandatory.

Preferred Experience
  • Familiarity with various audio/visual equipment is advantageous.
