Job Title: Lactation Consultant II

At Indiana University Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Lactation Consultant II to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive infant feeding services to families through inpatient and outpatient services.

About the Role
  • Develop and implement plans for the lactation program.
  • Increase awareness of the lactation program and develop educational materials for use with various audiences.
  • Use clinical expertise in assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient and family needs.
  • Participate in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes, and enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements
  • Requires an Associate of Nursing (ASN) degree.
  • Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires certification by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) or be certified within one year of hire.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Requires background working with childbearing families or maternal health nursing.
