Job Title: Lactation Consultant II

At Indiana University Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Lactation Consultant II to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive infant feeding services to families through inpatient and outpatient services.

Responsibilities:
  • Develops, markets, and implements plans for the lactation program.
  • Increases awareness of the lactation program and develops educational materials for use with various audiences.
  • Uses clinical expertise in assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient and family needs.
  • Participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes, and enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Requires an Associate's degree in Nursing (ASN) or a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires certification by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) or be certified within one year of hire.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
