Position Overview: KPMG is seeking a Manager to enhance our Federal Advisory practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of experts providing financial management advisory services to U.S. Federal government clients.
  • Deliver specialized technical expertise in financial management, focusing on financial reporting, internal controls, and financial business systems.
  • Assess and analyze financial risks, reporting, and accounting transaction processes, including controls relevant to federal entities.
  • Examine data, financial information, and system outputs to evaluate their impact on business processes, controls, and accounting practices.
  • Identify issues related to financial data and systems, including posting logic, USSGL compliance, and data management processes.
  • Create reports and visualizations, conduct reconciliations, cleanse data, and perform intricate accounting analyses of financial data.
  • Manage the project lifecycle, including scope definition, business case development, vendor evaluation, requirements gathering, functional and technical design, testing, training, and implementation phases.

Qualifications:

  • At least five years of experience in federal financial management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution; CPA, CGFM, or CDFM certifications are preferred.
  • Experience in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements for U.S. Federal government entities.
  • Proficiency in Data Querying, Analytics, Visualization, or RPA tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx, Python, UiPath, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience in leading project engagements, staff development, internal financial controls, business process analysis, and financial business systems.
  • Strong comprehension of business processes, project management methodologies, and leading financial practices.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary to support firm engagements.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, along with an active U.S. Federal government TS/SCI + Poly security clearance.
