We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Department of Veterans Affairs. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality care to our patients, focusing on the diagnosis and management of complex health problems, health promotion, disease prevention, health education, and counseling.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a diverse patient population with complex arrhythmias and electrical conduction disorders, utilizing antiarrhythmic medications, ablation procedures, implanted pacemakers, AICD, and loop recorders.
- Interrogate Medtronic, Boston Science, Abbott, Biotronik CIEDs, and perform cardioversions.
- Provide high-quality care, increasing access, and improving outcomes for Veterans.
- Obtain and evaluate medical histories, perform physical examinations, perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, and order laboratory studies, radiographs, electrocardiograms, and other special examinations.
- Make arrangements for further care if appropriate and serve as a consultant to other providers.
- Work collaboratively with all levels of staff, including trainees, and a multidisciplinary staff in a fast-paced educational and collegial environment.
- Develop and implement evidence-based nursing protocols and organize educational activities targeted toward staff training and development.
- Complete cardiac risk assessments, new patient consults, and routine follow-up visits in all areas of cardiology via face-to-face and virtual care modalities.
- Provide necessary patient education and apply currently accepted preventative health care measures to patients and/or their families.
- Active, current, full, and unrestricted APN license to practice as a NP in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Nurse Practitioner Board Certification: Must possess and maintain full and current board certification as a NP in Adult or Family.
- Strong knowledge base of cardiac electrophysiology.
- Grade Determinations: In addition to the basic qualification requirements, the grade level of a NP is based on a combination of education and experience.
This position requires moderate lifting up to 44 lbs., carrying objects up to 15 lbs., frequent reaching above shoulder, use of fingers, hands, and legs, use of cranes and motor vehicles, walking and standing up to 8 hours, bending, and climbing. The incumbent must be physically, emotionally, and mentally stable in order to efficiently perform the essential functions of this position without hazard to themselves or others.
