Each entity is committed to delivering exceptional service, value, and enhancing the student experience to support academic achievement.

Objective: To provide essential support to Campus Enterprises and NC State Dining by ensuring a superior dining experience for all patrons.

Compensation: Starting at $11.50/hr (Tier 3), with potential for salary increases based on tenure within Campus Enterprises. Employees in Dining and Catering enjoy complimentary meals and may qualify for an end-of-semester bonus.

Work Locations: Various locations including Bragaw, Wolf Village, Talley Market, and Shuttle Inn.

Schedule: Flexible shifts designed to accommodate your academic timetable.

Eligibility: Federal Work-Study candidates are welcome.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the operations of Cafeteria and Market.
  • Manage daily operations during midday, evening, or weekend shifts, including cash handling.
  • Lead teams in ice cream, bakery, and Cafeteria/Market departments, ensuring adherence to protocols and minimizing errors.
  • Train student staff, including Cashiers and Lead Cashiers.
  • Engage in special projects as assigned by management.
  • Effectively communicate with customers, address concerns, and guide the team to deliver friendly service.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, handling registers and restocking food items.
  • When assigned, prepare ice cream, milkshakes, and waffle cones, or fulfill bakery orders.
  • Assist with daily operations, including food service and maintaining sanitation standards.
  • Contribute to achieving a Grade A sanitation rating of 95% or higher.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Current student at NC State University with a flexible schedule.
  • Strong ability to delegate tasks and communicate effectively with a diverse group of supervisors, peers, and customers.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to every guest.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and coaching team members to foster a positive work environment.
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency and punctuality.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in all cashier functions through previous roles.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth, such as involvement in Customer Relations and Professionalism Certificate or Leadership Intensive programs.
