This position is hybrid, requiring proximity to the Greater Rochester, NY area. Initial onsite presence in Fairport is necessary for the first two months, transitioning to a flexible schedule of 2-3 days per week thereafter.
Role ResponsibilitiesWe are enhancing our software and system testing engineering team and are in search of seasoned automation testing engineers. In this role, you will address challenges related to test automation infrastructure while automating tests for our embedded intrusion alarm systems and associated application software.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing software for test automation frameworks and infrastructure.
- Creating automated tests to meet project deliverables.
- Engaging in requirements engineering activities.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to establish test automation expectations.
- Participating in product design and testing strategy discussions.
- Providing input on scheduling for test automation development to project management.
- Working within a cross-functional team that includes software engineers, hardware engineers, testers, and project managers.
- Contributing to technical project reviews and code assessments.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
- Over 8 years of experience in designing and implementing test automation frameworks.
- At least 5 years of proficiency in Python programming.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in developing BDD-style tests using tools like ROBOT or Cucumber.
- 3+ years of experience in performance testing.
- 2+ years of experience in cloud environments.
- 2+ years of experience in mobile application testing.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyze existing software code and utilize various software tools.
- Experience with CI/CD implementation using Jenkins or similar tools.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, including Scrum and test-driven development.
- Experience with tools for requirements management and fault tracking, including Jira, Git, and Bitbucket.
- Experience with embedded systems.
- Knowledge of Docker or similar virtualization technologies.
- Ability to work independently in an organized manner, taking ownership of team objectives.
- Strong interpersonal skills within a cross-functional team, with a proactive approach to communication and conflict resolution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
