Pharmacist/OnCall/UKHC - Good Samaritan Central Operations Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team at the UK HealthCare Good Samaritan Hospital. As a Central Pharmacy Operations Pharmacist, you will be responsible for providing pharmaceutical care to patients admitted to the hospital. Your duties will include reviewing and perfecting medication orders, reviewing drug profiles to ensure appropriateness of therapy, and contacting and conferring with physicians and other practitioners to optimize medication therapy.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and perfect medication orders
  • Review drug profiles to ensure appropriateness of therapy
  • Contact and confer with physicians and other practitioners to optimize medication therapy
  • Participate in medication reconciliation process
  • Promote economically conscientious use of medication
Requirements:
  • BS Pharmacy or Pharm D
  • Licensed Pharmacist or License Eligible in Kentucky
  • 2 – 3 years of Inpatient Hospital Experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PGY1 residency preferred
  • Equivalent 2 – 3 years of Inpatient Hospital Experience highly preferred
