Responsibilities include monitoring microbiological data, analyzing bloodstream infections, surgical site infections, ventilator-associated pneumonias, and multi-drug resistant organisms; providing feedback to medical leadership and administrative teams. Stay updated on relevant literature and best practices in infection prevention. Lead and oversee preparations for accreditation surveys related to Infection Control. Design and implement infection prevention programs, such as hand hygiene initiatives, across the healthcare system. Provide education to both clinical and non-clinical staff on infection prevention protocols.

Conduct infection surveillance and educate all levels of staff within the organization regarding infection control measures. Engage in program development aimed at addressing local and national trends, as well as recommendations from organizations like the Joint Commission and the Centers for Disease Control. Collect, assess, and analyze data and relevant research in the field of infection control. Develop policies, procedures, presentations, and articles for both internal and external dissemination. Consult on matters related to emergency management and construction projects.

Qualifications:

Education:

Required: Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred: Master’s Degree

Specify Degree(s): Nursing, Medical Technology, Epidemiology, Public Health

Experience:

Required: 1-2 years of relevant experience

Preferred: 3-5 years of relevant experience

Details: Minimum of 3 years in Infection Control and 3-5 years in a clinical specialty area.
