Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Scientific Laboratory Support Specialist to join our team at Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories Professional Scientific Services (PSS). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing support in laboratory operations, maintaining a safe and organized work environment, and ensuring the smooth operation of laboratory equipment.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated between $40,000 and $45,000 per year, depending on education and years of experience. Key Responsibilities
  • Maintaining laboratory supplies, reagents inventory, and preparation of media
  • Safe handling and movement of compressed gases and/or cryogenic liquids
  • Cleaning and monitoring of controlled temperature units, fume hoods, and biological safety cabinets (BSC)
  • Use of electronic management and tracking system for monitoring routine maintenance and calibration status of laboratory equipment
  • Management of paper lab notebook and logbook requests, updates, and reconciliation
  • Assists in coordination and execution of reoccurring equipment maintenance and calibrations
  • Participates in the overtime and weekend schedule as required
  • Cleaning, organization, and labeling of lab spaces in accordance with effective procedures
  • Complete all safety and procedural trainings and re-trainings
Requirements
  • Associate degree (AS) in Life Sciences or equivalent
  • A strong work ethic and ability to meet physical demands including, but not limited to, routinely lifting objects of 25 lbs. or more, walking and standing for extended periods of time, pushing or pulling carts and equipment and bending down or reaching for supplies
  • Knowledge of cGMP is a plus
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
