Respiratory Therapist

Cogdell Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

• Provide basic and advanced Respiratory Care services to patients of all ages, including neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of Respiratory Care plans.
• Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care.
• Perform diagnostic procedures, including arterial puncture, electrocardiogram, blood gas analysis, pulmonary function tests, and pharmacologic and treadmill stress tests.
• Administer medication as ordered by physicians and/or protocols.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including charting, billing, and logbooks.
• Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities to ensure high-quality patient care.

• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
• Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Texas.
• Successful completion of Neonatal Resuscitation certification.
• Current ALS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
• Three or more years of previous experience in all aspects of cardiopulmonary services.

• Basic Microsoft computer skills or the ability to learn such skills.
• Ability to use ventilators, EKG machines, stress treadmills, PFT machines, and CPT machines.
• Outstanding clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
