POSITION OVERVIEW

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for executing tasks and duties within the scope of case identification, health education, counseling, and the provision of supportive and restorative care under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Part-Time

DEPARTMENT: Cardiology

SCHEDULE: 8-Hour Shifts

KEY ATTRIBUTES
  • Mandatory: Completion of an accredited practical nursing program with knowledge of medication administration and potential side effects.
  • Preferred: Experience in a clinical setting as a licensed practical nurse.
  • Mandatory: Valid and unrestricted New York State LPN license.
  • BLS certification required within three months of hire.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Gather and document patient information for comprehensive care planning, including vital signs, allergies, medication history, and chief complaints.
  • Identify and communicate operational challenges to management, ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
  • Engage in collaborative projects and daily operational discussions to enhance patient care quality.
  • Deliver direct patient care in accordance with established nursing standards, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared for provider review.
  • Administer routine nursing care and assist with clinical procedures under the guidance of a licensed healthcare provider.
  • Utilize medical supplies efficiently to manage departmental expenses and maintain accurate treatment records.
  • Work collaboratively with all healthcare team members to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Medium Work - Involves exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; requires frequent walking, standing, or squatting.

COMPENSATION:
$30.21 per hour

The stated pay range reflects the potential base salary for a successful candidate. Compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, specialty, internal equity, and contractual agreements.
