We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Seafood Associate Team Leader to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our seafood department, you will be responsible for assisting the team leader in all aspects of daily operations, including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain creative store layouts and product merchandising to drive sales and customer engagement.
- Work with the team leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets, and assist in analyzing sales reports and labor data.
- Assist the team leader in annual sales and expense projections and budget preparation, and help with ordering and inventory management.
- Function as the point person and departmental person in charge in the absence of the team leader, and maintain awareness of customer flows and needs.
- Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel team members to sustain a high-performance team and minimize turnover.
- Communicate and maintain team member safety and security standards, and provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations.

- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, and work in a fast-paced environment with frequent standing, walking, and bending.
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals, temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and a wet and cold environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed, and use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
