Job Summary:
Santa Monica Seafood is seeking a Logistics Operations Specialist to manage Northern California logistics from our facility. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity of our delivery operations, ensuring that products reach our customers in optimal condition.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise a team of delivery drivers:
- Recruit and train new drivers.
- Develop and manage driver schedules; oversee timecard audits and approve time-off requests.
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to enhance driver performance and safety.
- Address safety concerns and incidents, utilizing technology to monitor compliance.

2. Manage a fleet of delivery vehicles:
- Ensure all vehicles are well-maintained and compliant with safety standards.
- Oversee cleanliness and readiness of vehicles for daily operations.
- Coordinate necessary repairs and maintenance with external service providers.

3. Ensure efficient delivery operations:
- Oversee the loading and unloading processes to guarantee timely deliveries.
- Equip drivers with necessary tools and documentation for successful deliveries.
- Adjust routes as needed to accommodate staffing changes or operational needs.

4. Utilize logistics systems effectively:
- Implement routing software to optimize delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of delivery information and customer interactions.
- Stay informed about local conditions that may impact delivery efficiency.

5. Foster strong communication:
- Build positive relationships with customers through effective service.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.

Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in logistics, delivery, or distribution.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in a logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of the regional geography.
- Proven reliability and a strong sense of accountability.
- Experience in the food distribution sector is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and logistics management software.
- Ability to lift and transport items weighing up to 50 lbs.
